Empire of Arkhosia
The dragonborn Empire of Arkhosia remains to this day one of the most contentious and influential historic nations of Aletheia. At the height of their power the empires control spanned the entirety of Aletheia’s continent, only stopping at the border of Bael Turath far to the west.
It is not known precisely when the dragonborn nation was originally founded, but the Empire of Arkhosia did not take its historic shape until some four thousand years ago with the corruption of Bael Turath. Until then history notes Arkhosia as a small nation on the eastern shores of Aletheia. After the onslaught of Turathian sorcerers, and the fall of the Relic Nations Arkhosia was the only country of Aletheia not subject to Turathian occupation.
Many historians speculate that if it were not for the arrival of the aggressive tiefling nation Arkhosia would never have gained such prominence upon Aletheia. Dragonborn often have contention with this claim, suggesting that Arkhosia did not “conquer” Aletheia so much as liberate it. Regardless, as the empire fought back against the tiefling magocracy and gained control of the fallen Relic Nations they maintained possessions of those national borders, rather than turning the possessed controls back over to their original disposed rulers. According to the historic doctrine of the empire, Arkhosian officials reasoned border control was instrumental in keeping order during the Turathian war. Many other races believe this was actually clever nation building, expanding the Arkhosian empire under the guise of protecting the citizens from the Turathian threat.
